The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Warriors Party

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team enter places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Planners parties.

Viewers can look forward to learning which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
